L’Arbre à Pain Hotel is located in Altier, a mountainous, calm area, 4.3 mi from Villefort Lake. The hotel rooms are equipped with a TV, bathroom, seating area and balcony. An amazing find. I was cycling the St Malo to Nice route (France en Velo) and Altier proved a perfect stop on the way. The owners and staff could not have been more friendly. My bike was safe and the room very generously proportioned. The food was amazing, sourcing local products while being great value. This was my favourite stop of the entire trip.

Staff at reception very helpful, waiters and waitresses in the hotel restaurant equally professional. Excellent menu and excellent breakfasts. The best hotel dinners and breakfasts I've had in any hotel in France over the past 10 years. The rooms are spacious with equally spacious and well fitted bathrooms. Beds super comfy. Garage parking for an extra payment for motorcycle which was especially useful as it rained every day and most nights!

Lovely comfortable bed and spacious room with nice bathroom.The staff were really welcoming and accommodated our request for dinner in the evening even though we hadn't reserved it in advance. The food was good.

We arrived with two bicycles which we were allowed to park inside.

The building is amazing. At the top of the town looking back over the town. Stunning.

This is a modern but sympathetic to it's surroundings, small hotel. The service was exceptional, with the receptionist going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect; including telling me about their dry room for my soaking wet motorcycle gear. That was a great to be able to avail of. I had heard about the restaurant being very good; well all I can say is definitely eat here if staying at the hotel. The food is top quality French standard. The stuff you would pay twice the amount for in Ireland or UK. It was exceptional. The breakfast was also very nice. I wouldn't hesitate recommending staying here and if on motorbikes, they have garage parking to add to the equation. The best hotel we stayed in for our round Spain and France trip.
